Our youth program has been pretty successful thus far in a short period of time. We understand success requires hard work! Our goal is to instill "work ethic" in our players, so they can wake up every day, being productive. We are purely dedicated to every single player in our program. We have studied the tendencies and mishaps of other basketball programs, which is why our program is dedicated to building healthy relationships along with the skill development of our players. We encourage our players to give their maximum effort by realizing their full potential. Players will learn that the best players are usually the players who works the hardest. Talent definitely plays a key role early on, but sooner or later it’s the hardest workers that rises to the top. As our players begin to see their hard work paying off, we make sure to point out to them that it’s their consistency and hard work that has led them to improving.
Our purpose of coaching is to teach young athletes life lessons, that encourages and reward responsibility, commitment, and hard-work. Regardless of skills or abilities, we want each player to experience success and feel they are a better person for having been a part of our program.
Team Phame is a competitive basketball program ranges from 8u-17u, devoted to impacting lives and empowering kids from all backgrounds. Our program focuses on team building and basketball skills development for youth. Our basketball program was founded February 2022 at Gilbert Regional Park, located in Gilbert, Arizona.
To educate, mentor, and develop young athletes by teaching them life skills such as respect, discipline, and teamwork. For us, it’s bigger than basketball! We want our players to understand the value of commitment, sacrifice, and hard work. Our goal is to help each player understand the importance of hard work and having a winning attitude. We want our players to grow up being productive on and off the court. Having a winning attitude starts with self-confidence and accountability. We don’t just wake up winners. There are many factors that goes into winning.
We envision that together, our players, families, and volunteers will work with positive spirits to create a safe and friendly environment. We want our youth to know how important it is to volunteer and give back to their communities. “The true test of character is how you treat people that can’t do anything for you”. As role models, our jobs are to help players build a sense of pride and responsibility to help take care and give back to their community. “Never forget where you come from”.
No matter how good you are, at some point you will fail. We teach our players to be able to accept losing because there’s a lesson in every loss. It’s impossible to navigate through life without losing. If we lose, lose with respect, by leaving everything on the floor. If you have nothing else to give the game, there's no reason to hold your head down. You shake the hand of your opponent, congratulate them and work harder the next time. When learning a new skill or new drill, we expect you to fail, but the next time you try it we encourage your child to get better. "It’s a big difference between learning how to lose and learning from your loss."
Our program firmly believes that competitive basketball teaches kids many life lessons that will lead to success in anything they do on or off the court. Our goal is to always make sure the game of basketball remains fun to our players.
Our club is not a win-at-all-cost type of club that tries to recruit the most talented players possible and roll the ball out to them and expect them to "out-talent" other teams. We do not go out chasing elite players just to win tournaments.
Team Phame is not a recreational or equal-play club that does not care about winning and losing. Our team competes and play to win. Players will not be giving playing time, they must earn it in practice or games.
We are committed to bringing in good quality coaches to help teach our players the game of basketball. Phame requires that our coaches be experienced, knowledgeable, positive yet demanding, passionate, thoughtful, and most of all willing to teach.
There nothing wrong with wanting to win. Our club prepares, trains, and expects to win. While society often perceives winning as the most prized outcome of sports, for us developing a team is far more important than the win-loss record.
Our club teaches that the opportunity for success is available to everyone. Focusing on traits such as; commitment, hard-work, and determination, rather than solely on the competition outcome, promote player's growth.
